Artist’s Note
Collection of the Artist
Shell Beach Watercolour.
I painted this rock while my wife was playing the violin, see the post below.
It was serene listening to her music, the sound of the waves and birds, and painting!
I was attracted to this scene by the reddish and yellowish flowers atop the rock; and the apparent movement of the rock formation.
Prior to the painting, I made a couple of small sketches to determine the composition.

More About This Painting
My wife played her violin while I painted this rock scene. Vancouverites will be familiar with “Bard on the Beach”; I entitled this photograph “Bach on the Beach” The preliminary watercolour sketch helped me determine the composition for the larger painting.
