My wife and I were walking home from the Mask Museum when I spotted this man sitting and thinking on a doorstep. I had seen him before but never thought I'd try a painting of him.
The subject is difficult since there are no straight lines, many shadows and a lot of colour. I tried this in acrylic and am pleased with the result.
The old man sitting on the doorstep was known to many people. Unfortunately he died in 2016
