Artist’s Note
This 1,421ft rock—the third largest in the world—rising just a few miles beyond its cobbled streets, the little town of Bernal in central Mexico inhabits a unique landscape. My wife and I climbed most of this rock, the highest single rock in North America, which for us, was a bit of a struggle.
The painting represents the view from Bernal to the rock on the left. I took several photographs to collage the effect of height and colour.
