El Salto Falls

2017. Acrylic on Board , 12" X 9"

Artist’s Note

Petrified waterfalls, natural freshwater springs, and exceptional views of Oaxaca’s Central Valley define Hierve el Agua. These impressive rock structures have been formed by mineral accumulations fed by the springs at the top of the cliff; the biggest of the two “stone falls” rises almost a hundred meters over the valley. My wife and I visited Oaxaca with some friends, some of whom ventured with us to el Salto Falls between Catemaco and San Andres

There are many falls in Mexico, some most beautiful and often out side the "beaten track"
