Artist’s Note
I painted this scene in acrylic which is now in the collection of Judith Finlayson.
I wanted to try painting it in watercolours in sketch form. The colours are intense and the weathering of the walls makes for interesting blending of watercolour, which is exciting using watercolours!
The old man died about two years ago. He could be seen sitting on the step often
