Artist’s Note
Again, en plein air painting. I sat on a bench looking at this wonderful example of Spanish Church Architecture. We were invited to a baptism of Marie Emelia, daughter of Carlos and Laura Martinez last year, which was a very warming and wonderful event.
I have painted this church three times, and am always surprised at the opportunities for painting around the building.
Many festival events occur on he plaza here including the Dance of the Locos!

This sketch was executed during a workshop. It was cold (es frio) so all but me left to return to the studio, but I wanted to complete the sketch even though my fingers were freezing!
