Artist’s Note
Collection of Richard Scarth..There is a wooded area behind my apartment through which I often walk. I have made several small sketches of the tree and rocks. This painting was interesting to me because of the misty quality of the trees in the background the bright colours of the flowers and grasses.

I find it interesting how the black and white appearance of my watercolour paintings are strong, because I don’t usually create a value sketch prior to painting the scene.
